Why help Friends of Recovery?

· Contributions are used directly to support our goal of advocating and supporting Oxford Houses throughout the state of Kansas.

· Currently there are three staff members that provide this support to the 53 houses across the entire state. Budget increases would allow us to increase our staff capacity and further our mission.

· In order for the network of Oxford Houses to continue to expand in the state of Kansas, we need additional staff to be able to provide direct support to those houses, especially in new market areas

· Your donations are tax deductible

How can I help?

Donations can be made in one of two ways:

· First, you can write a check directly to Friends of Recovery Association and send it to the Executive office in Kansas City. The exact address can be found at the contact us page.

· Second, you can make an anonymous donation through our partner - Guidestar. This is a part of the Greater Kansas City Foundation, and allows visitors to choose who they are making contributions to. To view an in-depth organizational profile for Friends of Recovery and make a credit card donation on a safe, secure site, click here.

How businesses can help?

Business Donor Program

A financial gift provides an opportunity for business leaders to give back to their community. By supporting FORA, you are building communities.

Business Partner Program

This program allows a company to dramatically impact FORA on an intimate level. This is done by assigning a staff person from the business to act as a "bridge" between FORA and the corporate world. The bridge facilitates the following:

Resource Connection:

Connecting FORA needs with available business resources. For example, when a company is planning to upgrade its copier and would like to donate the older model, the bridge links the company with FORA.

Volunteer Outlook:

Identifying professionals who could contribute their expertise to the FORA Board of Directors or skills to committee a project.

Public Relations:

Educating colleagues and friends about FORA.

Donor Development:

Speaking to other community minded business leaders on the merits of FORA and the need for material, service, or financial donations. For example, asking businesses to donate a meeting room for FORA use, or asking a copy company to donate printing services for the FORA newsletter.

Partner Expansion:

Networking with other business contacts to increase the network of corporate partners.
